We will do whatever it takes to help you and support you in finding your most healthy and active lifestyle.  We believe that respecting our body inspires a calm mind and a lively spirit.

Why Our Patients Come See Us

Our patients visit us for many reasons.  Some are suffering from severe and chronic pain, while others have minor, nagging injuries, and some are hoping to achieve higher performance.  We encourage anyone who is suffering, even from the slightest discomfort, to see a chiropractor.

When we overuse muscles or joints due to habit, poor posture, or compensating because other muscles are too weak to work properly, we’re inviting further injury and pain.

Getting chiropractic care will relieve stress in body and mind, allowing for it to function as it should.

Our patients are usually experiencing one or more of the following symptoms when they come to see us:

  • Back and lower back pain

  • Neck pain

  • Shoulder pain

  • Pain in the extremities (leg pain, ankle pain, hand pain, etc.)

  • Shooting pain

  • Sharp pain

  • Sciatica problems

  • Headaches

  • Loss of range of motion or flexibility

  • Chronic pain

  • And more

If you have been in an accident, have a sports injury, had surgery, or any other significant impact to your body, chiropractic care can provide comfort and healing. But, a chiropractor can also provide great benefit for those suffering due to poor posture, repetitive activity, sitting at a desk daily, and other small body malfunctions that can lead to pain and cause greater injury down the road.

Our patients aren’t always visiting us because they’re in pain, some patients are looking to be proactive in their health.  Many athletes work with us before and after an event, hoping to prepare their body, loosen tight muscles, and maintain overall body health in order to increase function and performance.

Carolina Active Health Chiropractic is proud to offer our services to a variety of patients, in every stage of life, trying to live a natural and healthy lifestyle.

When to See a Chiropractor

Chiropractors are trained to provide specific care and techniques to their patients through a holistic approach.  Using methods that work to feed the body what it’s lacking organically, without the need for medications and invasive surgeries, but through manually adjusting the joints, tissues, ligaments, and muscles that aren’t functioning as they are meant to.

We recommend that you make an appointment to see our chiropractors if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Chronic pain in the back, neck, shoulders, or extremities

  • Radiating pain from your back into your hips and legs

  • Intense pain in the back, neck, shoulders, or extremities

  • Loss of range of motion or mobility

  • Weakness, tingling, or numbing sensations

  • Swelling and/or redness in areas of the body that are in pain

A chiropractor will apply care that balances the body, rejuvenating and restoring it in the purest way possible.  Pain will be alleviated at its root while systematically providing strength to weakened areas.

Reasons seeing a chiropractor are beneficial to mind, body, and soul:

  • Learn lifetime pain management techniques

  • Learn proper posture

  • Reduces stress

  • Headache treatment and management advice

  • Learn proper stretching and exercising  techniques

  • Gain relaxation and lifetime relaxation techniques

  • Receive  a working health plan that will contribute to general well-being and life balance

Our Chiropractic Adjustments

Oftentimes when a new patient comes in they tell us that they assumed they’d be on a table, receiving loud and uncomfortable cracks to sensitive areas of their body.  Of course, we do offer spinal adjustments, which are safe and in most cases provide no discomfort and immediate relief, but that’s not all chiropractors do.

Our doctors use different adjusting methods specific to the individual patient.  Restoring the body to its proper and highest function is the end goal, but getting there is based on each patient’s personal comfort level.  In some cases an instrument may be used to assist and other times a small, forceful thrust with the hands is all that’s necessary.

Adjusting or manipulating a compromised spine will ensure that the muscles, joints, and ligaments find their correct place and that body balance is methodically reestablished.  Our team will know how best to proceed with a successful plan for each patient in order to obtain this goal.

Our Chiropractic Techniques

All of our doctors have extensive knowledge, education, and years working to master an array of chiropractic techniques.  They have worked with patients of every age, experiencing every range of pain. All of the techniques we offer will amount to a healthy, active body.

Diversified Chiropractic Technique (DCT)

The DCT method is received by hand to each restricted joint, separately.  To aid in the patient’s range of motion, a very controlled low-amplitude, high-velocity thrust is made to each of the specific joints.

Gonstead Technique

Another hands-on approach, this technique applies a gentle and precise adjustment to the spine through the patient’s correct positioning and the precision of the doctor.  The goal is to locate and correct interference with the nervous system due to vertebral misalignment.

Motion Palpation Technique

Using our hands and fingers we will apply light pressure to the joints of your body in order to feel how they are functioning.  As each joint is moved, we feel for motion within the joint. By analyzing the motion, we know where a restriction may be present, and therefore how to restore normal motion to the joint.

Thompson Drop-Table Technique

This technique uses the same precision adjusting with the doctor’s hands to make a thrust to the joint, however, as the thrust is made, the table will drop allowing for a more comfortable, less jarring manipulation.

Flexion Distraction Technique

As the patient lays on a table, the chiropractor will apply gentle pressure to the spine to realign the lower back in order to regain proper motion and reduce herniated and bulging discs, at the same time the various parts of the table will give way under the pressure and gravity will help return the spinal column to its healthier position.

Activator Technique

This method uses the Activator Adjusting Instrument on the patient’s spine.  The instrument delivers subtle and safe impulses to the targeted areas in order to manage pain through restoring range of motion.

Extremity Adjusting Technique

These adjustments work on the extremities: legs, ankles, hands, etc. in order to relieve the pain felt through overuse and improper use.  The doctors will adjust the part of the body in order to establish healthy and safe mobility. Stretching and exercising techniques will be provided for the patient’s proactive at-home care.

Once our patients start their comprehensive chiropractic treatment plan with us they will usually notice improvement after the first few visits, within four weeks of treatment, patients often see significant improvement in comfort and range of motion.  Most patients need about eight weeks of thorough treatment before their healing is complete.

Our approach is always holistic and all-encompassing, so whenever applicable we will provide in-office and take-home exercises and stretches to contribute to your wellness plan.  These will be taught to each patient so they can be executed with the proper form and provide a lifelong toolbox to pull from.
