CHIROPRACTIC CARE
When your body is in pain or discomfort, it’s telling you that something isn’t working right. Carolina Active Health Chiropractic offers safe, natural, noninvasive chiropractic care to help your body heal, reach your wellness goals, and empower you to be your best. Our Greenville doctors are determined to minimize your pain by healing the root problem that creates it.
WHY PATIENTS SEE US
When we overuse muscles or joints due to habit, poor posture, or compensating because other muscles are too weak to work properly, we invite further injury and pain. Getting chiropractic care will relieve stress in the body and mind, allowing us to function as we should.
If you have been in an accident, suffered a sports injury, had surgery, or had any other significant impact on your body, chiropractic care can provide comfort and healing. Our patients are usually experiencing one or more of the following symptoms when they come to see us:
Our patients aren’t always visiting us because they’re in pain; some are looking to be proactive in their health. Many athletes work with us before and after an event, hoping to prepare their bodies, loosen tight muscles, and maintain overall body health to increase function and performance.
WHEN TO SEE A CHIROPRACTOR
We recommend that you make an appointment to see our chiropractors if you are experiencing any of the following:
- Chronic pain in the back, neck, shoulders, or extremities
- Radiating pain from your back into your hips and legs
- Intense pain in the back, neck, shoulders, or extremities
- Loss of range of motion or mobility
- Weakness, tingling, or numbing sensations
- Swelling and/or redness in areas of the body that are in pain
A chiropractor applies care that balances the body, rejuvenating and restoring it in the purest way possible. Pain is alleviated at its root while weakened areas are systematically strengthened.
I had never seen a chiropractor before and Dr. Nelson is wonderful and very knowledgeable. The entire office is kind, warm and efficient. Because of the care provided by Dr. Nelson my back feels much better and I could resume exercising. Awesome place highly recommend!!!
OUR CHIROPRACTIC TECHNIQUES
When a new patient comes in, they often tell us that they assumed they’d be on a table, receiving loud and uncomfortable cracks to sensitive areas of their body. While we can offer spinal adjustments, that’s not all chiropractors do.
All of our doctors have extensive knowledge, education, and years of working to master an array of chiropractic techniques:
- Diversified Chiropractic Technique (DCT). The DCT method is received separately by hand to each restricted joint. To aid the patient’s range of motion, a very controlled, low-amplitude, high-velocity thrust is made to each of the specific joints.
- Gonstead Technique. Another hands-on approach, this technique applies a gentle and precise adjustment to the spine through the patient’s correct positioning and the precision of the doctor.
- Motion Palpation Technique. Using our hands and fingers we will apply light pressure to the joints of your body in order to feel how they are functioning. By analyzing the motion, we know where a restriction may be present and restore motion to the joint.
- Thompson Drop-Table Technique. This technique uses the same precision adjusting with the doctor’s hands to make a thrust to the joint, however, as the thrust is made, the table will drop allowing for a more comfortable, less jarring manipulation.
- Flexion Distraction Technique. As the patient lays on a table, the chiropractor will apply gentle pressure to the spine to realign the lower back in order to regain proper motion and reduce herniated and bulging discs and gravity will help return the spinal column to its healthier position.
- Activator Technique. This method uses the Activator Adjusting Instrument on the patient’s spine. The instrument delivers subtle and safe impulses to the targeted areas to manage pain by restoring the range of motion.
- Extremity Adjusting Technique. These adjustments work on the extremities: legs, ankles, hands, etc. to relieve the pain felt through overuse and improper use. The doctors will adjust the part of the body to establish healthy and safe mobility.
